Summer Solstice Crafternoon with NVRC

A couple of weeks ago, I crafted with North Vancouver Recreation and Culture and Lynn Valley Village at their Summer Solstice Block Party. We celebrated the longest day of the year with live music, dancing, balloons, face-painting and crafts made out of 'junk'. Here are my helpers - Barb from NVRC and Welsey. We were definitely a dynamic trio.

This is what we ended up creating... A Dad's Day banner aka bunting. We upcycled wallpaper samples and decorated them with letters, stickers, drawings, etc.

The event started off with some awesome dancers.

And then the crafting began! We made bunting out of upcycled burlap, cereal boxes and wallpaper samples then added some puffy letters.

A couple of happy crafters...

This piece was epic! 2 hours of colouring, drawing and crafting...

This girl was all about unicorns...

She even made this for me. I was definitely feeling the crafty love!

We even upcycled a banner for our popcorn peeps. Burlap, Sharpies and a stencil... Perfect!

Loved this trio... The music was lively and definitely got our crafty mojo in high gear.

Big thanks to North Vancouver Recreation and Culture, Lynn Valley Village and all my crafters... We kicked craft butt together!

Don't miss my next craft date with North Vancouver Recreation and Culture and Lynn Valley Village. I'll be at the Summer Culture Kick Off on Wednesday, July 6th from 6pm to 8pm. Be sure to drop by and craft with 'crap'.
