'Raw Crafts' book launch

A couple of weeks ago, I partnered with Book Warehouse on Main Street for a book launch for 'Raw Crafts'. It was a blast! And the peeps at Book Warehouse were AWESOME! I showed up at 6pm, got set up and was ready to go for 7pm.

James introduced me to the 20+ people who showed up for the event.

It was a nice mix of crafty peeps, BFFs and new friends. Such a FAB time!

Here I am giving my mini talk.

I talked about crafting with 'crap', Crafternoons and the book authoring.

And after my mini talk, it was time to get down to the easy peasy upcycling project, DIY burlap bunting.

I made a sample for the launch... My 'Raw Crafts' burlap bunting with repurposed thrift store fabric.

We had crafting, mingling AND munchies! Yum! My lovely Mom even made my favourite cookies.

I prepped burlap triangles for the bunting in various sizes and different threading of burlap.

Everyone really got into the crafting!

The craft table was quite the hot spot... And my Mom's cookies went really fast!

So much intense crafting was happening.

Cutie patootie DIY burlap bunting in the works.

I made a few new awesome BFFs.

Crafty peeps showed up like Rebekah and Norbert from The Hive Printing. Love those two! And my super fun BFF Erica.

Jute, Sharpies, stencils, cookie cutters, scissors... The tools of the trade.

A whole lotta LOVE was in the room.

Fun action shot of the crafting.

Nice shot of the set up at Book Warehouse.

James set up a comfy chair for me for the book signing. We sold 18 books in no time!

And I signed and signed AND signed... Thanks everyone for supporting my crafty book.

My Capilano University coworker Lise with her LOVE bunting.

My lovely friend Meghan from Surrey Libraries showed up, bought a book and kicked craft butt.

Meghan with her XOXOX bunting.

A new friend with her Xmas bunting.

Another new friend with her SPRING bunting.

SPRING bunting ready to go!

More crafting was in the works.

My BFF Erica with her bunting for her daughter. Erica is one awesome peep!

My fabulous crafty peep Carol with her bunting.

Another shot of my new friend with her Xmas bunting.

Talia from Book Warehouse crafting and selling books. She's quite the dynamo!

Couples and crafting is a win-win combo. Aren't Vanessa and Brian cutie patooties!

One of my coworkers from my days at the City of North Vancouver showed up. Chandra and her son popped in for a bit and she won my burlap flowers. Sharing is caring!

And Cheryl, one of my Capilano University coworkers, is a writer and came up with this one of a kind burlap garland.

So that was the book launch. It was a hit! Thanks to my BFF Diana for documenting my very first book launch. And thanks to Book Warehouse for hosting the event.
