My NVCL Xmas Crafternoon

A couple of weeks ago I had my last Crafternoon of 2015 with the North Vancouver City Library. The 4 upcycling workshops I facilitate are supported by a Neighbourhood Small Grant through the Vancouver Foundation. I had tons of helpers for the Xmas Crafternoon including my Mom. Here we are getting ready!

We had 50+ participants... Lots of my regulars showed up. And we had a few newbies join in the fun!

We took old ornaments and made them fabulous... Reindeers, planets and more.

We also upcycled laminate samples and old slides into Xmas decor.

It was quite the hub of crafty activity.

There were some angel ornaments in the treasure trove of thrift store finds I brought.

Someone got super crafty at the Crafternoon.

Here's a new friend, Kulvir, and her kids. They came, they crafted and they had a blast.

A happy crafter...

One of my regulars making Xmas awesomeness...

Some laminate samples and Mod Podge... 'Have Joy'...

Decoupage in action... Laminate samples are great to work with!

My super duper helper with her crafts... I gifted one of my samples to her.

A close up of the angel.

And the craft renegade popped in and made this origami Xmas scene.

A bag of crafts... One was a Xmas garland made from upcycled laminate samples.

Another happy crafter with tons of finished projects...

A cutie patootie crafter and ornament.

I had some burlap on hand so someone used burlap, glitter and jute to create this Xmas garland.

Thank goodness I had tons of ornaments for everyone!

A new participant with his snowman ornament.

And my regular crew of FAB crafters with their plethora of upcycling awesomeness.

One of my new craft cheerleaders... She's already asking about 2016 workshops. Love my NVCL crafty peeps!

Big thanks to NVCL, Vancouver Foundation and to all my super kewl crafty BFFs.

Stay tuned for 2016 Crafternoon dates. I have a few lined up plus an author presentation. I should also have a date for the book launch with Book Warehouse soon. Details at www.thriftybydesign.ca.
