DIY Thanksgiving Gift Basket in Richmond

I had 2 upcycling workshops right before I took off for Cuba for 2 weeks. The first Crafternoon was with the City of Richmond as part of their Fall 2015 Environmental Sustainability Workshop Series. We made gift baskets out of repurposed milk cartons, cereal boxes and egg cartons... Even toilet paper rolls.

We had a small group with a few regulars and a couple of new participants.

One DIY was a modification of one of my new FAV projects - we turned the milk carton planter into a basket by adding handles. This was a hit with my group of crafters!

Toilet paper and cereal box baskets were a hit as well!

Everyone added their own spin / personality to their projects. I love seeing what people come up with and how they add their own pizzazz to their DIYs.

Helen is one of my Richmond regulars...

One of my new participants won my sample basket. I also made her a burlap flower to go with her basket.

Our Glue Gun Goddess... Ruby had never used a glue gun before the workshop and she kicked glue gun butt.

My new crafty peep... Jessie was a joy to craft with. She's a bundle of fun! And she crafted up a storm - 1 milk carton basket and 2 cereal box gift bags looking darn fabulous.

Big thanks to the City of Richmond and all of my lovely crafty peeps for the awesome upcycling workshop. You guys rock!

Next workshop with the City of Richmond is on November 28th from 1pm to 3pm. We're repurposing old clothing into unique and personal Christmas ornaments, jewelry or a gift bag.
