Now for some crafty projects for friends

It all began at the Friday Night Crafting Club at Bird on a Wire. I've never dropped in for the crafting at Bird on a Wire and was able to make it for the last one of 2014 this Friday. It was potluck so I not only brought a crafty project but also some Xmas goodies.

My project was a Xmas stocking for a friend's dog. I used a thrift store jacket for the base. Next was using cookie cutters for felt patterns to stitch to the stocking. I started with bones and snowflakes...

The snowflakes didn't look too good so I switched them for stars...

Next was adding the dog's name... Bones, stars and the I stitched 'molly' along the top.

The stitching for the name took me a couple of tries. I decided on bright purple over mustard yellow.

After adding the name it was time to add an inside fabric then stitch it up!

Here's the finished stocking...

I used a bright pink to stitch the front and back together.

A fancy dancy buttonhole stitch is da bomb!

Plus the lime green canvas type fabric I used for the inside was pretty funky!

Next up is more Xmas ornaments for friends and family. I also think I may have to make a few more baby booties.
