DIY upcycled package project #1

It's definitely feeling like Xmas these days... After 6 Crafternoons with one more tonight I'm ready! I've been making gifts and now to create reusable packaging for them!

I worked on an easy DIY for LowerLonsdale.ca updating Mason jars. I'll post the link once it's live. For now here's another simple glass jar update...

First grab a jar from your recycle bin and clean it thoroughly. Allow to dry then we're ready to go!

For this project I used a jar with a flat surface since I'll be decoupaging. Supplies include: a glass jar, Mod Podge, tissue paper, a ribbon and a sponge brush.

First brush Mod Podge onto the glass surface you want to decoupage. Next you'll wrap the jar with the tissue paper rubbing the tissue paper gently into the surface.

Allow to dry then you can add Mod Podge to the top and bottom of the tissue paper. Now add your ribbon to finish off the update.

I used a bright turquoise for the trim then a gold and silver tissue paper. The paper had glitter in it too. I'm liking how the jar is looking so far!

I then added a chalkboard sticker from Michaels to the top. I bought some chalkboard spray paint but for this update I thought the sticker would look better. And it's done! Now to fill it with homemade shortbread and give it away.

Here's the easy peasy how to... Love these 15 minute DIYs!

Be sure to check back for details on my second DIY post with LowerLonsdale.ca.
