Getting crafty with the Queen of Green
I have a new cyber, crafty friend. She's pretty awesome and very in the know with being green... She's the 'Queen of Green' aka Lindsay Coulter.
I recently mailed off a package to her with wine cork earrings and a pair of baby booties after we connected via Twitter. In exchange I got to make soap with her and some of her coworkers at the David Suzuki Foundation.
Making soap is easy yet a bit intense. Lindsay supervised and lead us through the process. Here we are pouring the soap mixture. Now it sits for a bit then we'll cut it up into individual pieces.
We used this book along with her tried and true recipe for making the soap. I had fun, learned something new yet really I was just there to meet Lindsay in person and have fun getting crafty.
Next post will be about the finished soap and any future crafty adventures Lindsay and I plan. For now it was a great evening of mixing random ingredients up and making something useful with new peeps.
