Cereal box project #2 complete

Yay! Cereal box project #2 is done! I've made a gift bag out of a cereal box. I was a decoupage queen today!

Here's the box I decided to upcycle...

I went through my crafty stuff for ideas on how to design my gift bag... I could use old maps...

Or a paper bag from Trader Joe's...

Or maybe an old book...

I have some cute drawings from a friend's daughters that I could use as well...

Or the old stand by would be scrap paper and old buttons...

First step was to cut off the top flaps...

I decided to start with a layer of newsprint paper and modge podge.

I layered strips of the newsprint paper...

After layering the newsprint paper I added another coat of modge podge and this time I added some white paint. Now I was ready to add some text, images and colour of some sort.

I decided to use the fork from the Trader Joe's paper bag then added these tissue paper circles I got for free from a craft fair then added letter cut outs and finally a bit of glitter to jazz it up! I punched holes in the sides then added ribbon for the handle.

I like how the fork extends to the bottom of the box. So darn cute!

Next is to make some gift tags and then maybe a mask. And here's the homepage of the North Vancouver City Library's website and look the Sunday Crafternoon is coming up!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!
