I finished my latest pillow set this afternoon. This is the Jacob turtleneck I felted and made into a pillow cover. After felting the wool, it's not itchy but a nice comfy addition to the pair of covers I created yesterday!

The joy of felting...Recent Thrift Store Finds... I lucked out this weekend - I found a wool skirt for $5.50 and then a fabulous wool Benetton sweater for $4. And yes I felted them as soon as I got in the door! The skirt is huge and definitely an ugly skirt but groovy as pillow covers. I made two 18" x 18" pillow covers. I used a brown wool mix for the back. I probably have enough of the fabric from the skirt to make two more covers! BEFORE ![]() AFTER ![]() Today I'll be finishing off a 14" x 14" pillow cover I started yesterday to complete the set - this is being made from an old Jacob turtleneck that's a lovely light blue. I probably paid $5 for the turtleneck at a thrift store - I never really wore it since it was super itchy! Hopefully I can also start cutting up the Benetton sweater. I'll be using the sleeves for more baby booties - the colours are fun and bright! ![]() Other Projects On the Go I also plan to sand my end table this afternoon. It's gorgeous out today - a good day for hanging out on the deck and crafting... This is the view from our deck. You gotta love the Sunshine Coast! ![]()

3.21.2009More craft updatesOther than felting sweaters and making booties, I'm making more wine bags. I want to refine the overall design since they are such a hit! I joined the knitting group at my work so I craft while everyone else knits. It's been great! I prep the bags on the weekend then work on them during the knitting group or while I'm on the ferry, etc. ![]() ![]() Recent Thrift Store Finds... ![]()

I'm back!Well the past month or so has been a little unexpected. My Dad was quite ill and in the hospital all of February. He's back home and on the mend! Then we moved... Always fun! Over the past year and a half, we collected a lot more than I thought! I'll blame it on Paul and all of his "toys". So now I'm getting back into crafts... The latest and greatest craft adventures include: Another felted sweater! This time I bought a $6 Benetton cardigan from the Salvation Army. The body of the sweater was used for another pillow cover... ![]() The sleeves are also being used in various projects. I bought some rust coloured wool that I combined with the felted cardigan to create a couple of pairs of booties... ![]() ![]() One pair has found a home and I'm sure it'll be easy to find a home for the other pair.
